Weekend Post (South Africa) - - News - Gareth Wilson

A German man visiting Nelson Mandela Bay on a three-month work trip was robbed in a guesthouse in Wyndham Street, South End, by three men who held him at knifepoint and stole his rental car and belongings.

The men entered the Madiba Bay Guest House at about 2am on Friday after bending open the security gate at the door and kicking the door open, police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said.

The 53-year-old victim was in the Bay on a work contract and had arrived on Wednesday.

She said the man had been sleeping when he heard a bang.

Once inside, the robbers restrained the man and stole a laptop and various other items, which they loaded into his rental vehicle.

After the suspects fled in the car, the man raised the alarm.

Naidu said the vehicle had been found in New Brighton at about 2.30am and impounded.–
