The Sasol service station shop in William Moffett Expressway was robbed by three men posing as customers at about 7.15pm on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said the 47-yearold cashier had been held at gunpoint and forced to open the cash register.

“Two men walked into the shop and one walked to the back section of the store. The other walked to the cashier and pulled out a firearm.”

Labans said another staff member had come from the back room to investigate the noise and was also held at gunpoint. A third suspect entered the store and helped with the robbery.

“The men grabbed the money and sped off in a red vehicle that was parked outside,” he said.

A case of business robbery is under investigation.
