Audi introduces S tronic
NEW: The three-door hatch has sold well in the first three months
FOLLOWING the local introduction of the Audi A1, Audi SA will be introducing the sporty 1,4 TFSi S line S tronic to the local market. The Audi A1 has sold almost 1 000 units in just three months, making it the leading premium A0 three-door hatch in its segment.
The A1 1,4 TFSI (136 kW) has a confident appearance with its single-frame grille, the striking roof arch, the flat Cpillar, the wrap-around engine hood and luggage hatch and the tornado line.
The 1,4 TFSI has a compact, lightweight engine with four valves per cylinder. This produces 136 kW and 250 Nm of torque. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h takes just 6,9 seconds, with a top speed of 227 km/h.
The spontaneous response and high propulsive power are achieved by special concept — a combination of supercharger and turbocharger.
Excellent fuel consumption figures are achieved due to the FSI concept, which is the dual charging system, and also technologies from the modular ef- ficiency platform. The 1,4 TFSI uses on average 5,9 litres of fuel per 100 km and emits 139 g carbon dioxide per km.
The standard seven-speed S tronic transmission directs the power of the 1,4 TFSI to the front wheels. The sevenspeed S tronic is composed of two transmission structures which are operated by two multiplate clutches. The gear shifting process takes place in just a few hundredths of a second and with no detectable interruption of pulling power. The tall seventh gear reduces fuel consumption.
Its standard specification contains a wide range of highlights: Ambition equipment line, 17-inch wheels, S-line exterior package, climatic air conditioning, black headlining and the LED interior light package.
The new Audi A1 1,4 TFSI S line S tronic is available from all Audi centres at an inclusive retail price of R312 000. This includes a five-year/100 000 km Freeway full maintenance plan.
