Bright light from tech has been linked to a higher risk of obe­sity, partly due to its e ects on sleep – sci­en­tists know poor sleep makes it harder to con­trol your ap­petite and eat healthy food. A 2016 study from North­west­ern Univer­sity also found that bright light at night could in­crease in­sulin re­sis­tance and blood­sugar lev­els, which, over time, raises risk of obe­sity, heart dis­ease and type 2 di­a­betes.
