IT’S AL­MOST NEW YEAR’S RES­O­LU­TION TIME. HERE ARE A FEW POINTS TO BEAR IN MIND WHEN YOU SET THOSE 2019 GOALS

Dayna: Your body is much tougher than you could ever imag­ine. If there are women who can join the mil­i­tary, run 25km, carry dou­ble their own body weight and have no breaks, your 20-minute jog on the tread­mill is noth­ing! Michelle H:

Fo­cus on how you are feel­ing. Visu­alise your­self tak­ing part in the event un­til your con­fi­dence is so high that it ban­ishes your ner­vous­ness. Sunette: Don’t start flat-out. Go step by step un­til you are happy with your pro­gres­sion and fit­ness. Michelle W:

Get ad­vice from some­one who’s al­ready in the sport, find a train­ing part­ner, start off slow and grad­u­ally build into it. Lastly, have fun!
