Why do you love braaiing?

It’s so true to our way of life and is something that everyone loves doing. It’s a South African tradition for people to bond over good food, good meat and good wine. I associate these things with a good braai! It’s all about the atmosphere that it creates and people coming together, which is why I look for any opportunity to have a braai. Sometimes, even if we don’t have guests, I’ll feel festive enough and my husband and I will braai.

What is your braai must-have and what makes it so special?

Probably our secret marinade sauce! And it IS a secret so I’m not going to tell you what’s in it! But it is true to our braaiing style and my love of Asian food. I always love having a little bit of Asian fusion, so we’ll have the traditional South African braai but bring an international flavour to it.
