1 x ba­sic bread dough (see recipe right) flour for coat­ing but­ter, golden syrup, grated Ched­dar

cheese to serve

1 Pre­pare the dough ac­cord­ing to the recipe and al­low to rise.

2 Pinch off fist-size balls and roll in flour. Al­low to rise for a fur­ther 15 min­utes.

3 Ar­range on a braai grid and braai over mod­er­ate coals for 20 min­utes or un­til done. Turn of­ten. Knock on the base to check if they’re done – they should sound hol­low.

4 Serve with but­ter, syrup and cheese.
