WHAT YOU NEED FOR A STUDENT LOAN APPLICATION
The requirements might differ from one loan provider to another but generally you’ll need these:
〉〉 An acceptance letter from a tertiary institute that’s accredited with the South African Qualifications Authority.
〉〉 Proof of academic results such as your national senior certificate. If you’re already studying you’ll need proof of your current academic results.
〉〉 A valid South African ID document or smartcard.
〉〉 Proof of residential address.
〉〉 Proof of course costs for the year of study such as invoices or statements detailing costs of tuition, accommodation for fulltime students not living with parents or relatives, textbooks and study-related technological devices.
If a prospective part-time student doesn’t have an income, the loan can be in the name of a parent, guardian or other person with a full-time job and proof of income. This person must have a good credit record and bring their ID, past three salary slips or bank statements and proof of residential address.
