BE WARY OF VISA SCAMS
Work-abroad expert Glen Davidson warns that obtaining a visa on a South African passport is a complex process and people need to be wary of scams.
“Anytime you see a possibility to work overseas, the first thing to do is check the consulates of that country’s website and see what information there is,” he warns.
“Also, never pay money to anyone just for information. You must do your homework and make sure you have a job offer or contract in hand before paying any fees. No company should ask you to pay something to ‘register’.
“Only pay a fee when they’ve provided you a service that will most likely help you to actually travel.”
