Geographic information system (GIS) technicians build and maintain geographic information system databases.
They create specialised map systems. To do this they research and verify data from various sources, which is transformed into standardised computer formats for use in databases and maps.
GIS technicians may assist scientists, land-use planners or engineers in identifying the spatial needs and challenges of projects.

〉〉WATER LIAISON PRACTITIONER
These specialists develop and implement communication strategies to encourage sustainable water usage. They analyse water laws and regulations to inform consumers or their organisations and keep them up to date on developments in those areas.

◗ Diploma in water science and technology from Tshwane University of Technology.
〉〉TRANSPORT ANALYST
Analysing accident statistics, traffic flow and air quality to predict future trends and estimated statistics is what the job involves. This helps to find solutions to transport challenges such as heavy truck traffic.

Procurement managers plan, administer and review the supply, storage and distribution of equipment, materials and goods. They research and forecast levels of demand for services and products, and develop and monitor distribution plans and budgets to see to these needs. They also run risk assessments to ensure that sourcing processes are safe, reliable and sustainable.
