YOUR SKILLS IN THE WORKPLACE

-

Once you’ve done a bit of introspection and assessed your strengths and weaknesses in relation to your chosen field, consider these questions:

◗ What skills do I need for the job I want?

◗ What weaknesses must I address now?

◗ Which strengths should I improve?

◗ How much time do I devote to them?

If you need extra skills that require training or coaching, do some research and find out if there are online courses or if you have to study at an institution.

Once you land a job, take advantage of training courses your employer offers.

“Most companies have access to Seta (Sector Education and Training Authority) funds, so talk to your HR department and see if staff can help you to fund a relevant course,” says O’Brien Recruitment’s Lorna O’Brien.
