Ap­ple tart samoosas

This yummy vari­a­tion of an ap­ple tart is easy to eat and the per­fect sweet treat for a lunchbox.

Prepa­ra­tion time: 15 min­utes Bak­ing time: 20 min­utes

4 phyllo pas­try sheets 100 g but­ter, melted 30 ml (2 T) brown su­gar 1 ml (¼ t) cin­na­mon 50 g pecan nuts, chopped 2 cans (400 g each) pie ap­ples 60 ml (¼ c) brown su­gar 125 ml (½ c) raisins 5 ml (1 t) grated le­mon zest ex­tra brown su­gar and chopped nuts for sprin­kling Pre­heat the oven to 180 °C. 1 Brush the pas­try sheets with the melted but­ter. Sprin­kle with the su­gar, cin­na­mon and nuts. Layer the sheets on top of one an­other in twos, then cut in half. 2 Mix the ap­ples, 60 ml brown su­gar, raisins and zest. Put a spoon­ful of the mix­ture on one end of a pas­try half, fold a cor­ner over the fill­ing and con­tinue fold­ing to make the samoosa. Seal with melted but­ter. Re­peat with re­main­ing in­gre­di­ents. 3 Brush the samoosas with melted but­ter, sprin­kle with a lit­tle brown su­gar and chopped nuts and bake for 20 min­utes.
