Simple tips for flawless makeup
You don’t need a make-up artist to get these actresses’ red-carpet looks – we show you how
FACE Apply foundation to your face then follow with a light application of blusher over the cheek area. Try a cream blusher – it’s lighter than powder while still giving a tinge of colour. EYES Fill in your eyebrows to frame your eyes strongly. If your eyebrows are naturally thick, shape them using tweezers and use an eyebrow gel to tame stray hairs.
Apply a copper eyeshadow on your upper and lower eyelids, and follow with a gold colour on the inner corners of your eyes. Make sure the two eyeshadows blend together where they meet.
Use eyeliner to create cat’s eyes and apply a few coats of mascara to your upper and lower lashes. To make your upper lashes more dramatic try applying strip lashes. LIPS Liquid-matte lipsticks (lipsticks that apply like gloss, then become matte) are more flexible than traditional matte lipsticks. They feel lighter and softer too.
Using a damp cloth, exfoliate your lips to remove any dead skin and make them smooth. Apply petroleum jelly as base then line with lipliner.
Lastly apply colour using the lipstick applicator. To transform your matte texture to one with a bit of sheen, apply clear gloss over the matte lipstick.
