Khan just can’t lose!

-

Seems as if singer KAHN MORBEE is on a winning streak: he’s got two wins for his team on TV singing competition The Voice, his second solo album is out – and then there’s his growing family.

The Parlotones frontman and his wife Candace are expecting twins later this year, expanding the Morbee squad to five – they’re already parents to two-year-old Jaxon Milo.

He says his toddler son provided some of the inspiration for his solo album, A Noise In The Void, which was released last month.

“I love all the tracks on the album but Rhythm Of The Night will always stand out for me,” Kahn says.

“The first time Candace and I took Jaxon to the bush when he was six months old, he was asleep and I was playing guitar while listening to the sounds of the bush – that’s when I wrote it. So when I hear that song it transports me to the bush and reminds me of my time with my family.”

We chatted to Kahn about music and parenthood.

Who’s your favourite musician and why? That’s a tough one as I love many artists, from my early influences such as The Beatles, The Smiths, Radiohead and Queen to current artists and bands ranging from The National to Katy Perry and everyone in-between.

Do you have a ritual before going on stage? It’s changed quite a bit in recent years due to vocal-cord surgery, so most of my ritual is vocal warm-ups that consist of oooohing and aaaahing, humming and gurgling!

Fatherhood has made you . . . one happy fella!

What is your best parenting tip? Always carry wet wipes with you.
