TIGER’S DAY OF RECKONING
GOLFER TIGER WOODS may be spending a little less time on the course over the next year. The 41-year-old was found guilty of reckless driving following a plea bargain stemming from his arrest earlier this year. He was sentenced to a year’s probation during which he’s required to attend a drug-treatment programme and undergo regular drug testing.
In May police found the athlete slumped at the wheel of his parked Mercedes-Benz, not far from his home in Florida. A toxicology report stated he had several legal medications in his system, including two types of sleeping drugs, as well as the active ingredient in marijuana.
The judge said if Woods completes the drug-treatment programme, the reckless- driving charge will be wiped from his record.
