I’M VERY LIKE ERIC!

We chat to John McCook about Christmas, family and playing Eric Forrester

ERIC Forrester – now there’s a name that needs little introduction in the soapie world. As the debonair head of the Forrester clan he’s kept us entertained for more than 30 years. We’ve watched him do battle many a time in the boardroom as he fights for his mighty fashion empire, but let’s be honest – it’s his struggles of the heart that really kept us glued.

Over the years this charmer has been married to five women, including twice to Brooke Logan (who’s also been his son Ridge’s wife, but hey, that’s soaps for you) and four times to Stephanie Forrester, his true love and soulmate who broke his heart when she died of cancer.

His latest trip down the aisle was with Quinn Fuller – Bold’s latest bad girl who seems to have the soft-hearted Forrester boss wrapped around her little finger.

The 73-year-old, who’s been nominated twice for outstanding lead actor in the Daytime Emmy Awards, has been married since 1980 to actress Laurette Spang, with whom he has three children, Jake (36), Rebecca (34) and Molly (27). He also has a son, Seth (45), from a previous marriage.

With Christmas almost upon us, YOU caught up with John to find out how he celebrates this special time of year with his family – and of course to spill some juicy beans on acting in one of the world’s best-loved soap operas. You did a beautiful Christmas shoot at home – what do you look forward to most about this festive time? Just having our family all together. There’s never been a gap between our
