Keen as anything

He’s been around the block, having starred in plenty of local TV series, but it’s hard to play it cool when you hear you’ve been cast in a Hollywood blockbuster – especially when it’s Tomb Raider! “I thought I was going to lose my mind,” actor KEENAN ARRISON says of the moment he heard he’d bagged the job. He plays the role of Rocket, one of five mercenaries working for the villain pitted against Lara Croft (Alicia Vikander). The 37-year-old actor, who’s starred in e.tv’s Shooting Stars and M-Net’s The Wild, says he’s been a massive fan of the Tomb Raider game for as long as he can remember so it’s like coming full circle.

“My highlight was definitely spending three days with Alicia working on one of the biggest fight scenes in the film,” he says. All his scenes were shot in his hometown of Cape Town.

“It was challenging and exhilarating, but working with an incredible stunt department makes the world of difference for any actor.

“Now you have this 2018 blockbuster hit with Alicia Vikander! It’s a dream for any actor and every gamer,” he adds.
