Suffer the poor animals
I’ve just finished reading A Family Destroyed (YOU, 28 June) and it horrifies me that somebody can do something like that. But what horrifies me even more is that the poor animals are on their own at the house and “for the moment friends are popping in occasionally to feed them”.
I hope by this time the SPCA or a dog shelter has collected them as you can’t leave animals on their own with the hope that occasionally friends will pop by to feed them. They must be so traumatised by what happened and obviously bark from loneliness. Where do they stay? Outside in the open in the pitch dark at night?
Much as I sympathise with Vanecia, if she could take one dog with her she could at least have made better arrangements for the other two or taken them with her as well. P BALDWIN, EMAIL
I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the horrific story of the family slaying in Germiston, Gauteng. The article says two dogs have been left on the property and that friends are coming around occasionally to feed them.
It saddens me to think of those poor animals who must be so lonely and confused to be suddenly on their own. These traumatised animals need company, not just people dropping by every now and then. ANIMAL-LOVER, EMAIL
