I remember when Madiba met Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace – apart from asking if he could call her “Elizabeth”, when he saw the woman who was going to serve tea he went to greet her first before he greeted the queen.

But this was just Madiba’s nature . . . when he went to Washington DC and met President George W Bush in the White House he did the same thing.
