CAPE FLORAL REGION PROTECTED AREAS

YOU (South Africa) - - YOU NEWS -

At one million hectares, the Cape Floral Region is less than 0,5% of Africa’s surface but it’s home to nearly 20% of the continent’s plant species, making it one of the richest areas for plants when compared with any similar-size region. It became a World Heritage site in 2004 and is considered one of the world’s “hottest hotspots” for its diversity of endemic and threatened plants.
