A HAPPY OCCASION

I was so touched to read about the wedding of disabled couple Jaco and Michélle Vermeulen (YOU, 1 November).

They’ve both been dealt a tough hand in life and it’s so wonderful they found each other. They both looked so happy and handsome. I wish them well.

HOLS CUT SHORT

I’m frustrated that the upcoming December holidays for government schools have been cut short and are only just more than three weeks long compared to private schools, which have more than five weeks. This puts many families in difficult situations when it comes to going away.

December should be a time of being with loved ones and celebrating after a year of hard work. A lot of families use this period to “get away from reality” and go on holiday. This quality family time has now been cut short.

What a downer that the holidays are so short. KYARA HUGHES, DURBAN NORTH

To which he responded, “We’ll call you on our way to the camp.”

I drily responded, “Don’t call me, call my lawyer.”

I thought that was the end of the story but after a few minutes he came up to me and said, “Oupie, who’s your lawyer?” TOUCHED, EMAIL
