JOZI STARS
Home ground: Bidvest Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg Jozi Stars is one of the favourite contenders as it boasts the talents of bowling whizz kid Kagiso Rabada, who’s fourth on the International Cricket Council’s One-Day International bowler rankings, as well as explosive West Indian star Chris Gayle who played one game before heading off to play in the T10 League in the United Arab Emirates. The side, currently third on the Mzansi Super League log*, is coached by Highveld Lions coach Enoch Nkwe. “I’m looking forward to working with one of the best T20 cricketers in the world,” he said. “I’ve heard a lot of stories about Chris Gayle as a person in the changing room. He’ll be a big character for [the team] and hopefully, his influence will rub off on everyone else.”
