Home ground: Kingsmead Cricket Ground, Durban Former Proteas batsman Albie Morkel is captain of the side coached by Dolphins coach Grant Morgan.

The team, currently last on the log*, includes Proteas’ opening batsman Hashim Amla, who has now recovered from a finger injury that kept him out of the Proteas’ Australia tour, as well as T20 big-hitter David Miller.

Amla is confident the MSL will rival the success of other global leagues such as the Indian Premier League and Australia’s Big Bash.

“We need to allow it time to develop and add our own stamp on the world of T20 cricket. In our squad there are lots of Durban-based guys so we need to let this league pan out and allow the buzz to hit the streets,” Amla said.
