Home ground: SuperSport Park, Centurion AB de Villiers is the skipper so big things are expected from the team currently fifth on the log* and coached by Mark Boucher. AB will be looking for assistance in the runs and wickets from teammates including Proteas star Dean Elgar, former Proteas batsman Rilee Rossouw and England’s Eoin Morgan who’ll join the squad after international duty. Proteas paceman Lungi Ngidi was drafted but ruled out due to a knee injury he picked up in Australia. Having ended his Proteas career earlier this year, AB says he’s ready to lead the Spartans. “I’ll rely on the experience I’ve picked up over the years,” he says. “I’m a decent manager when it comes to understanding strengths and weaknesses. It’s an exciting challenge and I’m ready for it.”
