This movie comes 110 years after the first Robin Hood film, Robin Hood and His Merry Men (1908).

Danish YouTube sensation Lars Andersen was hired to teach the cast archery. His skills with a bow and arrow have earned him the nickname “the reallife Legolas”, after the elf in The Lord of the Rings. One of his skills is the ability to hit incoming arrows mid-air.

Taron joins Sean Connery (1976), Kevin Costner (1991) and Russell Crowe (2010), who’ve all starred as Robin Hood over the years.

Jamie Foxx says he was surprised by Taron’s singing voice on set. “The boy can absolutely sing,” he said on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Jamie played iconic R&B singer Ray Charles in Ray (2004), while Taron is set to star as Elton John in the 2019 biopic Rocketman.
