THE SELFIE SENSATION

CAMILLE GOTTLIEB OF MONACO

-

As the daughter of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco and former palace guard Jean Raymond Gottlieb, Camille (20) has no claim to the throne – but she’s blossoming into a beauty reminiscent of her late grandmother Princess Grace.

Camille, with her enormous blue eyes and plump pout, has become something of an Instagram sensation. It’s all thanks to her resemblance to the legendary former movie star and because she offers a voyeuristic look into her glamorous life. Snorkelling in the azure waters of Mauritius, skiing in the snowcapped Alps, sightseeing in Russia’s Red Square – you name it, Camille’s done it.

But her younger years were anything but pampered. As the daughter of Stéphanie (53), the Monegasque royal family’s “wild child”, Camille had an interesting childhood. She even spent three years living with a circus while Stéphanie was involved with a married elephant trainer – which might be why Camille is such a devoted animal-lover. She has five dogs and recently visited an elephant sanctuary in Sri Lanka.

Unlike her half-siblings, Louis (26) and Pauline Ducruet (24), Camille isn’t in the line of succession because her parents were never married. In fact, Jean Raymond (51), once Stéphanie’s head of security, has never been officially confirmed as Camille’s dad – Stéphanie didn’t list his name on her birth certificate.

But Camille has taken her dad’s surname and seems to have a wonderful relationship with him. She often shares sweet fatherdaughter snaps captioned #TelPereTelleFille (French for “#LikeFatherLikeDaughter”) and celebrated his birthday with a photo captioned, “I’m sorry but my heart belongs to Daddy.”
