It’s estimated drivers in big cities spend 106 days of their lives looking for parking – such a waste of time! But engineers in Israel may have found a nifty solution.

The City Transformer is a revolutionary new vehicle that folds up at the push of a button. It has all the bells and whistles of an ordinary car – including airbags and air conditioning – yet is more economical to run because it has an electric motor that can cover nearly 200km on a single charge.

But the vehicle’s true beauty lies in the patented folding mechanism – it goes from the width of a small passenger car to the size of a motorcycle when it’s time to park.

The first models are due to roll off the production line next year and will cost between $10 000 and $13 000 (R140 000 and R182 000).
