This is thanks to the ef­forts of Nor­we­gian nano-sci­en­tists who’ve found a way to dra­mat­i­cally im­prove the ca­pac­ity of lithium bat­ter­ies – by as much as 300 to 500%. It in­volves the sub­sti­tu­tion of sil­i­cone for the graphite used in the an­odes that power them.

The re­sult? Bat­ter­ies with a much higher ca­pac­ity.
