A BATTERY BOOST
We’re on track to have smartphones and computers that won’t need to be charged for several days.
Also electric cars that can drive almost 1 000km on a single charge.
This is thanks to the efforts of Norwegian nano-scientists who’ve found a way to dramatically improve the capacity of lithium batteries – by as much as 300 to 500%. It involves the substitution of silicone for the graphite used in the anodes that power them.
The result? Batteries with a much higher capacity.
