4. SELL UNWANTED ITEMS
January is a good time to go through your home and try to make a little cash from items you’ve rarely used or your kids have outgrown – such as that popcorn maker that seemed like such a good idea at the time or your son’s too-small bike. Furniture too – maybe you have a desk or a couple of chairs you don’t need.
Advertise them on sites such as Gumtree, OLX or Facebook Marketplace and put a little extra cash in your coffers. You’ll also declutter your living space which is a great way to start a new year. NOTE Be savvy when selling online. Never hand over anything without getting the money first, and it’s always better to opt for cash as electronic transactions might be fraudulent.
