Q’ERO TRIBE, PERU

These indigenous Indians who live at the highest altitudes of the Andes are direct descendants of the ancient Incas who were invaded by the Spanish Conquistadors in the 1500s. They’ve been able to preserve and pass on their sacred Inca healing traditions and are renowned as magnificent weavers. They also subsist on farming. Only about 600 Q’ero remain.
