These indigenous Indians who live at the highest altitudes of the Andes are direct descendant­s of the ancient Incas who were invaded by the Spanish Conquistad­ors in the 1500s. They’ve been able to preserve and pass on their sacred Inca healing traditions and are renowned as magnificen­t weavers. They also subsist on farming. Only about 600 Q’ero remain.
