WHAT SAN ARTISTS USED FOR THEIR PAINTINGS

-

They painted with their fingers, sharpened reeds or brushes made from bird feathers.

Paint was made from a natural clay known as ochre, which was mixed with eggs, water, blood or sap squeezed from plants.

The colours red and yellow were the most popular because they’re found naturally in clay, but black made from charcoal and white made from bird droppings or white kaolin clay were also used.
