It’s no secret that actor KEANU REEVES has suffered unbearable pain in his personal life.

The John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum star lost his best friend in 1993, his child in 1999 and his former partner just eight months later.

In a 2006 interview with Parade magazine, he said, “Grief changes shape, but it never ends. When the people you love are gone, you’re alone.”

In fact, the 55-year-old actor has become so well-known for his apparent melancholy and solitude, it’s inspired a meme.

But the era of “sad Keanu” is apparently no more: earlier this month he showed up at an art gala in Los Angeles holding hands with artist ALEXANDRA GRANT (46).

Alexandra worked with the Replicas actor when they collaborated on the books Ode to Happiness and Shadows – Keanu wrote the poetry and Alexandra provided the illustrations – but it seems the relationship has developed into more than a creative partnership. Sources close to Keanu and Alexandra say they’ve been quietly dating for years. The fact that she’s keen to live a life outside the spotlight is apparently one of the reasons the ultra-private actor fell for her.

“There’s an earthiness to Alexandra that’s always appealed to Keanu. She’s kind, warm and spiritual,” the insider claims.

“She’s one of the few people who’s managed to get Keanu to open up. He was in such a dark place for so long, but Alexandra’s positive outlook and support have played a huge part in helping him turn his life around.”
