HOW TO SAY IT: MUHTH-O-LUH-JEE
Mythology is a collection of traditional stories from cultures all over the world. We now use the word “myth” to describe something that isn’t true – but the word used to have a very different meaning. A myth is a well-known story that was made up in the past to explain natural phenomena, or to explain the origins of religions or traditions. It comes from the Greek word “muthos”, which means “fable” or “word”.
