MALARIA BREAKTHROUGH
Doctors and scientists have found a new way to help control malaria among children in the west African country of Ivory Coast. Fewer cases of the deadly disease have been reported after the introduction of a new invention from the Netherlands that blocks mosquitoes from entering homes and also destroys them with insecticide if they do. A special ventilation tube containing a mosquito net soaked with insecticides kills mozzies before they bite people. The tube is fitted to the roofs of homes.
