VIDEO CALLS FOR CHIMPS

Big screens have been set up by zookeepers at Dvur Králové Safari Park and Brno Zoo in Dvur Králové nad Labem in the Czech Republic to benefit chimpanzees.

The screens at both the zoos were placed in chimp enclosures after it was found that without visitors during lockdown the intelligent animals were getting lonely and bored.

Chimps need lots of activity to entertain them so video calls of up to eight hours were arranged to help them interact with one another.

“The campaign has been a great success, and we can’t be happier and more proud,” said Michal Šťastný, a spokesperson for Dvur Králové Safari Park.
