She wasn’t always knowledgeable about money, she admits.

Kris told the Wall Street Journal she was financially clueless while married to her first husband, lawyer Robert Kardashian, and never had to worry about bills or debts.

When they were getting divorced she was ashamed when a friend asked her, “How much is your gardener?” and she didn’t have a clue what he was paid, Kris says.

“And she said, ‘You don’t know?’ That was the turning point for me. I was embarrassed that I didn’t know.”

But Kris is a quick study and she set about learning how to manage her finances and earn money too.

“I felt such a sense of accomplishment to be able to pay my own bills and make my own money and do my own taxes. And there were times when I didn’t have a lot of money, but I was organised.”
