Before KUWTK, Kris and her kids were hardly struggling. Robert had died in 2003 aged 59 and left them an estimated $100m (then R650m) along with his interests in several businesses.

Their reality show brought in big bucks – by 2017 the family were paid $30m (then R420m) per episode – an increase of $20m (then R280m) per episode from their original deal – with Kris deciding how it would be split between them.

Kris’ canniest move was using their KUWTK fame to hop on the influencer bandwagon and then use those audiences to market-research and promote the budding Kardashian-Jenner fashion, fragrance and beauty businesses.
