YOU (South Africa)

believe I’d no longer harvest mangoes every season.

As I was eating my last mangoes before we left, I decided to pocket three seeds.

When we arrived at the new house I planted the seeds in the garden and began to water them four times a week.

On the fifth week, after nearly giving up, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw tiny leaves emerging from the soil.

The whole process has made me realise that you will never know what you are capable of unless you trust your instincts and try as many things as your heart desires.

It’s better to try and fail than fail to try and live with regrets. I’m glad I will soon be reaping what I’ve sown. S P MOFFAT, MAMELODI EAST
