EAGLE RAYS BREEDING AT TWO OCEANS AQUARIUM

-

Female eagle rays at Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town have been spotted with bulging bellies and are pregnant! Eagle rays only give birth every two years to between four and seven live pups and don’t lay eggs like many other rays. The animals weigh about 500g when born and can live for up to 25 years, according to the aquarium. Some of them are released into the wild after researchers study their behaviour and decide on the best home for them.
