PAMPER PARTY with mom

You don’t need to book a spa day to treat your mother – this at-home pamper session will make her feel special and gorgeous

- BY NTHABISENG MAKHOKHA

SURPRISE your mom this Mother’s Day with a pamper session in the comfort of your home – because let’s face it, home is still the safest place to be. Make it an exclusive occasion for the two of you or invite her bestie or a close family member and get stuck into a day filled with treats for her to treasure. A pamper party will allow you and your mom to relax and spend quality time together. Whether you’re on a tight budget or have a little extra in the pot to splurge, we have something for everyone.

Set the mood

Start out by getting the atmosphere right. You don’t have to break the bank trying to create a professional spa environment – use what you have to make your space as cosy, comfy and relaxing as possible.

Candles Buy a pack of tealight candles – they’re affordable and you get quite a few in a pack so you can really have fun finding creative ways to arrange them around the room. You can also float some on water in pretty bowls. Scented candles will also add to the ambience too.

Houseplants Gather plants from around the house and arrange them creatively in the space where you’ll have your pamper session. You can also scatter rose petals around the room for extra gorgeousness.

Soft music Music-streaming apps have playlists of therapeutic and meditation music so you don’t have to worry about making your own playlist. Select one and let it do its thing.

Comfortable environment Place scatter cushions and throws in your pamper session area and dig out the Christmas fairy lights.

Snacks & refreshments Stock up on Mom’s favourite treats – because what would a pamper party be without a few munchies?
