HACKS FOR EYES
APPLY CONCEALER IN A TRIANGLE
To brighten your undereye area, apply your concealer in a triangle shape. Start by drawing the base of the triangle directly under your bottom lash line and the tip pointing towards the apple of your cheek. This helps fully conceal any redness and shadows to create the illusion of brighter under eyes.
LINE YOUR UPPER WATERLINE
Known as tightlining, this technique has been used by makeup artists for years to help define eyes and make eyelashes look thicker and fuller.
The trick is especially handy if you have small or hooded eyes, which can look a bit OTT with heavy liner, or if you need a quick way of intensifying your existing eye makeup.
To start, use your ring finger to gently lift your upper lid and expose the waterline beneath your upper lash line. Next, take your eyeliner in one hand and carefully sweep it across the lash line, from the outer corner to the inner corner until the lash line is fully filled in and done. Bigger, bolder, brighter and more defined eyes.
DEFINE YOUR BROWS WITH CONCEALER
Using concealer around your brows is still one of the best ways to create a more defined shape. After filling in your brows, use a concealer brush or a stick concealer to trace above and beneath your arches.
“This creates a really crisp look that makes your brows look defined and as if they were recently maintained,” says makeup artist Renee De Wit. To ensure a natural finish, gently soften the outer edges with your fingertip.
APPLY YOUR MASCARA IN A ZIG-ZAG MOTION
Start with your wand at the base of your lashes and wiggle the brush using small zig-zag motions as you comb through your lashes. This will help separate the lashes and focus the formula at the base, creating the illusion of fullness.
