‘I’ll return a stronger man. This land is still my home’ – RIKY RICK’S FINAL TWEET

BRITNEY TO TELL ALL

The Toxic singer has signed a $15-million (R225-m) deal for a book that promises to be a tell-all about the drama of her controversial conservatorship and the trials and traumas associated with her family life.

“The deal is one of the biggest of all time, behind the Obamas,” an insider tells Page Six.

Little sister Jamie Lynn Spears made shocking claims about Brit in her recent memoir, Things I Should Have Said – now it looks like Britney will get her own back.

CHARLIZE’S BEEF WITH TOM

Remember how great the chemistry was between CHARLIZE THERON and TOM HARDY in the 2015 blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road? Well, it turns out they were just doing what they do best: acting.

Charlize says she needed on-set protection against the actor after he became threatening towards her. “It got to a place where it was kind of out of hand. I didn’t feel safe,” Charlize says in a new book about the making of the action hit.

A camera operator says Tom displayed “aggressive” behaviour towards the star after she swore at him in a “full rant”. Tom has acknowledged he could’ve done better. “What she needed was a better partner in me. I’d like to think now that I’m older and uglier, I could rise to that occasion,” he says.

BATMAN’S NEW HEROES

Since fans first heard ROBERT PATTINSON and ZOË KRAVITZ were co-starring in The Batman, excitement about the newest film in the franchise has been through the roof. The pair, who play the caped crusader and Catwoman, dazzled on the red carpet at the London screening recently.

“This is bizarre to me,” says Robert, who admits to dressing up as Batman when he was a little kid. “I’d be so curious what my childhood self would think of this.”

THUSO’S RISING STAR

THUSO MBEDU recently shared snaps from time spent with her co-stars, including VIOLA DAVIS, while filming The Woman King. In the movie, which was shot in Cape Town, Thuso stars as Nawi, a new recruit of an all-female military unit led by General Nanisca (played by Viola).

“The depth and complexity of emotional life, her authentic beauty and regalness is potent,” Viola says of the young South African actress. “We were mesmerised by Thuso Mbedu. We wanted Woman King/Nawi to be the vehicle to introduce her on the big screen.”

RIP, RIKY RICK

The tragic news of the passing of the performer, dubbed the “shining light of hip-hop”, sent shock waves through the SA entertainment industry and devastated his family, friends and fans.

RIKY, whose real name was Rikhado Makhado, was vocal about his mental-health struggles and his death from suicide has once again sparked a debate about the scourge of depression and anxiety. Nhlanhla Sibisi, CEO of the Recording Industry of South Africa, says the fraternity will remember him as a consummate performer and a kind, humble and respectful person.
