IS TIME RUNNING OUT TO FIND MY SOULMATE?

-

I feel like time is going by too quickly and I’m still struggling to find the special one in my life. I studied for years to qualify for my career, but I’ve now realised I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to find a mate.

I’m 36, still single and quite set in my ways. The girls I date (and there’s no shortage) all tell me I’m a bachelor for life and won’t be able to tolerate a woman in my home – just because I’m meticulously neat.

I’m not obsessive compulsive but I do like a neat environment. I don’t like loud music, parties or crowds.

Rather, I enjoy a quiet dinner with friends, talking about what matters most in life, a starlit night and the company of good friends around a campfire, or going on a game drive to appreciate nature.

Perhaps I’m just too serious for most women my age as they seem to enjoy clubs and rowdy parties? Where do I find my soulmate? Graham, email

You sound like someone who likes to contemplate life, who wants his life in order and who enjoys connecting with nature in peaceful serenity. There are definitely like-minded women about. Perhaps you haven’t been looking in the right places.

Think about where you’re more likely to meet women who have careers that involve animals or nature – someone who enjoys the outdoors and has the interests of the planet at heart.

Ask friends and family if they know anyone they can introduce you to – someone who prefers the sounds of nature to the noise of humans and has the same philosophical take on life that you do. It can be tricky being set up by friends and family, however, and you may do better with online dating.

The qualities you’re looking for should not be hard to find. But there’s no rush – you’ll find someone who suits you, though it might take time. You’ll know when you meet the right person.
