UKRAINE PRESIDENT EARNS NEW HONOUR
Scientists have decided to honour Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky by naming a 150-million-year-old marine invertebrate after him.
A fossil of the animal, named Ausichicrinites zelenskyyi or A.zelenskyyi, was discovered in Ethiopia. Although it has 10 arms with sharp, tentacle-like claws, the 5cm animal didn’t have a bony internal skeleton. The invertebrate is related to sea stars, sea cucumbers and sea urchins.
Experts decided to name it after the president for his “courage and bravery in defending Ukraine” in the ongoing war against Russia.
