CHARACTERISTICS OF SOUND

Pitch (frequency) This indicates whether a note is high or low and is determined by the vibrational frequency of a sound.

Volume (amplitude) The louder the volume, the more energy is used. More energy means greater amplitude and greater amplitude means louder sound. The pitch remains unchanged. Quality (wave form) When the sound wave is regular, it forms a clear sound. It’s pleasing to the ear, like music. However, when the wave pattern is irregular, the sound is unpleasant and is experienced as noise.
