How does it work?

The app, which was launched in 2020, has been gaining more international attention recently and has been called the anti-Instagram. Instead of perfectly timed and edited photos, BeReal asks users to share unpolished images of their lives. Every day the app sends a notification telling users, “It’s time to BeReal.” After that, you have just two minutes to post and share a photo with your friends. The app takes a picture using both your front and back camera, so other people can see what you look like, what you’re doing and where you are. So it doesn’t matter if you’re eating noodles, feeding your pet lizard or attending your friend’s party – if you want to BeReal, you have to do so immediately!
