INDIA BANS SINGLE-USE PLASTIC
In order to decrease the amount of litter, India has implemented a ban on single-use or disposable plastic products. These items range from plastic cups, cutlery and straws to ice cream sticks and some disposable plastic bags that are often used once and thrown away. The new ban makes it illegal to produce, import, stock and distribute these types of plastic. The aim is to reduce the litter found on the streets as plastic waste forms a major part of India’s pollution.
