HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
I turned 51 in July and my hubby and children treated me to a belated 50th party. Instead of a hall decked with beautiful decor, table settings, ceramic cutlery and waiters, I opted for a marquee at home, paper plates and cups and food served directly from a huge pot.
Most of my cousins who attended were born in the '70s and early '80s. We had competitions such as skipping, tug o’ war, egg & spoon race and hula hoops.
Despite our ages we brought out the children in us and it was such a blast. We didn’t bother about the pains we would suffer later. We laughed so much our cheeks hurt. Those few hours without phones, laptops, television or any social media was absolutely invigorating.
