THE ORDER OF SUCCESSION

-

‘IT IS MY WISH THAT CAMILLA WILL BE KNOWN AS QUEEN CONSORT’

The British royal line of succession is fluid. Royals can move places in the line when a member dies or abdicates or when a baby is born.

Prince George (9) is now second in line to the throne after his father, Prince William.

If tragedy were to strike, George could be made king, but he wouldn’t be allowed to carry out any duties before his 18th birthday.

His title would be symbolic and an adult prince or princess regent who’s in the line of succession would rule in his place until he turns 18.
