BACK ON THE SCENE

After a three-year break, Scottish pop star LEWIS CAPALDI has returned to the music scene. Proving how much his fans missed him, Capaldi’s new track FORGET ME amassed more than 2 million streams in its first 24 hours of being released.

The new song follows the success of his 2019 debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, with its global chart-topper, Someone You Love. The album is still the biggest streamed week-one debut album of all time.

His latest tune also tugs at the heartstrings. “Forget Me is so dear to my heart and I feel like it’s my best tune yet,” the Grammy-winner says.

“It’s about a breakup where after a year, the only contact I had with my ex was seeing her ‘post-me’ life on Instagram. I was miserable and she seemed like she was moving on, and I hated it. It seemed unfair to me that she appeared happy while I was hurting, and I was fearful she might’ve forgotten about me, so I wrote a song about it.”

The singer also opened up about his Tourette’s Syndrome, which causes his shoulder to twitch. “I do the shoulder twitch a lot, and people are like, ‘Did he take drugs before the show?’ Not at all.” He’s receiving Botox to help control his tics. – COMPILED BY NICI DE WET
